Organisational infrastructure · Wellness Spend Review

Where is your wellness investment actually going?

The more useful question is what your well-being spend is meant to achieve, and whether it reaches the things that shape how people feel at work.

There is no correct percentage.

Spend only makes sense in context: your people, your working conditions, and what you are trying to achieve.

Preliminary assessment

See how your spend is distributed.

Enter approximate annual figures in rand. Rough numbers are fine. The result is a description of your own figures: no score, no comparison with other companies and no judgement about the right split.

Include anything paid for mainly to support employee well-being. Leave out normal salaries, standard medical aid contributions and statutory costs.

How that spend is divided

Count each rand once, under its main purpose, so nothing is counted twice. Leave a line blank if you do not know; that is useful to know too.

Employee assistance programmes, counselling access, referral services and helplines.

Wellness days, challenges, apps, screenings, talks and once-off sessions.

Structured learning on emotions, behaviour, communication and management. Leave out technical and compliance training.

Spend aimed specifically at working conditions, such as reviewing workload and job design or assessing psychosocial risk.

Surveys, data, evaluation, audits and reviews of whether well-being efforts are working.

Your figures stay in this browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to include them in an enquiry.

The Wellness Spend Review

A deeper, paid review of what your spend is doing.

The assessment shows a distribution. A full review goes further: what each line of spend is intended to achieve, how it relates to your working conditions and educational provision, what is actually used, and where the money could do more.

You receive findings and practical recommendations. Scope and fees are agreed with you first.

What this is not. Neither the assessment nor the review produces a score, an industry ranking or a guaranteed return. They describe where your money goes and help you decide what to do about it.
